Yes, Family & Children Services is a not-for-profit agency.
Who do you serve?
Family & Children Services serves clients from a wide range of backgrounds, traditions, and cultures. The majority of our clients are from low-income households without access to
health insurance. For a full profile of the individuals served, please

Where are your services provided?
Family & Children Services serves Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. In addition to offices in Palo Alto, San Jose, and Campbell, we offer services in more than 100 locations, including schools, childcare centers, and workplaces.
Who is on your Board of Directors?
Family & Children Services is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Please see our Board of Directors listing for the names of our current Board members.
Where does my donation go?
Unless otherwise designated, your
donation to Family & Children Services will go to the area of most
need. We are more than happy to designate your contribution to
your specific area of interest.

How do you evaluate program effectiveness?
Family & Children Services evaluates all programs on an ongoing basis and through an annual review.
All programs operate based on clearly defined outcomes and objectives. The evaluation methods applied to each program vary by the type of program or service. Data and information collected through evaluation
is used to analyze trends and make program improvements as necessary.
Information is also shared with agency staff, clients, and donors.
Do you ever deny services to people unable to afford
your fees?
No. Services are provided based on a sliding scale. For those unable to
pay a full fee, services are subsidized by community donations, insurance,
and/or contract fees.
Where do you get your funding?
In addition to agency fees for service and contracts, Family & Children
Services must raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to support
the programs we offer. Funding comes from our Annual Support Campaign,
Corporate & Foundation Grants, planned giving, and special events.

How will my gift be acknowledged?
All gifts are greatly appreciated and are recognized with an acknowledgement
letter from our President & CEO. Due to space constraints, we are
only able to list gifts over $100 in our annual report. Please see our

you wish, we are also able to list your gift anonymously.
