Circle of Support Breakfast 2009

Thank You for a Successful Sixth Annual Circle of Support Breakfast!

On May 7, 2009, approximately 350 guests gathered at the Crowne Plaza Cabaña Hotel to celebrate the philanthropic leadership of Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen and to experience the keynote presentation of photojournalist Paola Gianturco.

Ms. Gianturco, author of Women Who Light the Dark, shared inspiring stories and photos of women around the world who are creating solutions to problems in their communities. Purchase her books at Kepler's Books & Magazines in Menlo Park, mention Family & Children Services at the register, and the agency will receive a portion of the sale as a donation.

Among Laura's many leadership roles in philanthropy, including as an instructor in Strategic Philanthropy at Stanford University, she is the founder and chairman of Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund, also known as SV2.

The event included a Fund-A-Need auction to raise funds for Family & Children Services' services for at-risk youth, including services for youth transitioning out of foster care and counseling provided on-campus at public and private schools and at the agency's offices.

Thank you to the generous individuals, foundations, and companies that contributed to the success of this year's event.
