Family & Children Services is proud to continue its partnership with United Way Silicon Valley
At the end of June, United Way Silicon Valley announced the recipients of its new 3-year grant awards. Family & Children Services' Independent Living Program serving youth emerging from the foster care system will receive a grant to increase its support for young people seeking employment. Cochlear Implant Family Support Group forming. To participate in this free group, the family must reside in Santa Clara County and have a child under the age of 6 who has a Cochlear Implant and/or CODA. For information and to sign up, visit our Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services.
Charity Golf Classic Registration is Open

Silicon Valley Duck Race
The Silicon Valley Duck Race is coming! Adopt a duck (or a flock!) for the chance to win great prizes while supporting area nonprofits. Adopt under the team name 'Valle Monte League' (then team member Heidi Bonneau) and you will support one of Family & Children Services' most dedicated supporters in its efforts to raise funds for mental health services. Referral Page for Suicide Help Posted
This spring has brought a disturbing number of suicides. Family & Children Services has added a referral page with numbers of local suicide and crisis hotlines, warning signs, and grief support resources. Please find it here.
Family & Children Services Accepting Military Health Insurance
As of November 1, F&CS is a credentialed provider for TriWest, the division of TRICARE serving the western region of the U.S. This is the health plan for active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, and their families. Valle Monte League, which has raised funds for Family & Children Services since 1954, will be the beneficiary of food and beverage sales at Mosaic Restaurant & Lounge on Monday, August 24th. The Mosaic Restaurant & Lounge is located inside the Hotel Montgomery in Downtown San Jose. Hope you can join us and raise funds for mental health services in the South Bay!
Support Mental Health Services by Adopting a Duck in the Silicon Valley Duck Race!
Valle Monte League, an all-volunteer organization that has raised funds for Family & Children Services since 1954. Valle Monte League is participating in the 2009 Silicon Valley Duck Race, which will be held on June 21st at Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos. You can support Valle Monte League - and in turn the mental health services of Family & Children Services and four other South Bay agencies that benefit from Valle Monte's fundraising - by adopting a duck. In turn, you will have a chance to win $1,000,000 and other prizes. On Saturday, May 2, 2009, Bloomingdale's at Stanford Shopping Center will present a benefit shopping day for Valle Monte League. Valle Monte League, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, has raised funds for Family & Children Services for more than 50 years. This new fundraising day will raise funds to support the work of Family & Children Services and the four other mental health agencies Valle Monte League so generously supports. Please stop by, shop, and tell the sales clerk, "I'm here to support Valle Monte League." Your sales will make a difference for mental health services in our community. Thank you!
Divorce & Separation Group Begins February 25, 2009
F&CS will offer a six-week support and education group for adults in the transition of separation or divorce. Themes to be explored by the group will include strengths, healing, children's process, and topics of importance to the group members. This group will led by Nancy Klimp, MFT. Family & Children Services Launches Endowment Fund
