Family & Children Services Charity Golf Classic Tees Off May 16

Former 49er and Raiders Stars Come Together to Support Benefit Tournament

Palo Alto, CA – April 6, 2011 -  Family & Children Services, a nonprofit organization that has provided quality counseling and prevention services in Silicon Valley since 1948, will present the second annual Family & Children Services Charity Golf Classic on May 16, 2011. The benefit tournament, chaired by Alice Nuzzo of Los Altos Hills, will be held at the Los Altos Golf & Country Club. Registration is now open.

Sports celebrities planning to participate in the Golf Classic include former 49er stars Frank Nunley (10-season linebacker),  Milt McColl (8-season linebacker), and Allan Kennedy (3-year offensive tackle) and former Oakland Raider Dave Casper (offensive lineman and tight end hall of famer).

The 2011 Family & Children Services Charity Golf Classic will feature 18 holes of golf on the private course, lunch catered by First & Main Sports Lounge, and a strength and conditioning seminar presented by F.I.T. San Jose British Motors is donating the hole-in-one prizes: a 2011 Jaguar XF, a set of Cleveland CG16 Black Pearl Irons, and a Cleveland Driver. The tournament will conclude with dinner, a silent auction, and music by the Jazz ConneXion.

Event sponsors include Sereno Group Real Estate, Judy Bogard-Tanigami of Alain Pinel Realtors, Edward Graziani of Sereno Group Real Estate, the Heritage Bank of Commerce, and Los Altos Hardware.

Proceeds from the Family & Children Services Charity Golf Classic will benefit the organization’s services for children, teens, and adults in Silicon Valley. Family & Children Services provides a circle of counseling, caring, and support, particularly for those who might not otherwise be able to afford care. Through counseling and prevention services, children and adults cope effectively with depression, addiction, and chronic mental or physical illness; families heal from domestic violence and child abuse; and our community’s veterans, LGBTQ youth, and young people emerging from the foster care system into independence receive specialized support.

Player registration is $250 and includes lunch, dinner, and play. Evening-only tickets are available for $75 and include dinner and entertainment.

For information or to register, contact Jodi Corwin at 650-543-5412 or jcorwin@fcservices.org, or visit www.fcservices. Registrations are accepted by phone, mail, or online. Space is limited.
