Family & Children Services Elects Two New Board Members:
Dana Shelley and Ian Nasman Join the Board of Directors

Palo Alto/San Jose, CA – Family & Children Services has announced the appointment of Ian Nasman and Dana Shelley to the Board of Directors. Mr. Nasman and Ms. Shelley join a board of 18 volunteers who lead the 63-year-old Silicon Valley nonprofit organization.

"Family & Children Services is delighted to gain the expertise of Ian Nasman and Dana Shelley. In this period of reduced government funding, strategic financial planning and comprehensive oversight are of critical importance to ensure nonprofit organizations are able to put donations to the best use for their clients,” said Diana Neiman, Chief Executive Officer of Family & Children Services.

Ian Nasman is a Senior Manager in the Audit group at Deloitte, where he manages a number of large, multinational public company audits, with a focus on companies in the semiconductor industry. During his tenure at Deloitte, Mr. Nasman has worked in the San Jose, London, and Adelaide (Australia) officers. Mr. Nasman holds a degree in accounting from Santa Clara University, and he has formerly served as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps supporting Joseph’s House in Washington, D.C.

Dana Shelley is Director of Budget Planning and Policy Analysis in the University Budget Office of Stanford University. In this role, Ms. Shelley is a primary contributor to the development of the University’s multi-billion dollar consolidated budget and is responsible for strategic planning and policy analysis for financial issues. Mr. Shelley, who holds degrees from Stanford University and U.C. Berkeley, formerly served on the boards of The Foundation for the Future, which raises funds for initiatives at Menlo-Atherton High School, and the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation.

Since 1948, Family & Children Services has provided counseling, caring, and support to children, youth, and adults in Silicon Valley, particularly those who might not otherwise be able to afford care. The organization helps children and adults cope effectively with depression, addiction, and chronic mental or physical illness; aids families in overcoming domestic violence and child abuse; and counsels and assists our community’s veterans, LGBTQ youth, and young people aged 16-21 as they emerge from the foster care system into independence.

Family & Children Services has offices in Palo Alto and San Jose, and provides services on-site at dozens of community locations, including schools, childcare centers, veterans’ centers, health clinics, courthouses, and community centers.
