On Saturday, April 28, more than 70 volunteers gathered at our Palo Alto office as part of National Rebuilding Day. The work day was sponsored by Cooley LLP and made possible by Rebuilding Together Peninsula, which organized more than 60 home and nonprofit facility rehabilitation projects for National Rebuilding Day.
By the end of the work day, our two-story Cambridge Avenue building had been painted, leaking skylights had been replaced, and aging beams had been repaired.
Our project was led by a talented and experienced team: construction captain Pete Hooper of Hooper Construction & Remodeling, Inc., and volunteer captain Michael Tenta, a partner at Cooley LLP. In addition to more than 50 volunteers from Cooley LLP, volunteers came from SFL Data and Family & Children Services.
“We direct donations we receive from our generous supporters to help fund our counseling services children, teens, and, adults, who come to us during times of crisis,” said Diana Neiman, President & CEO of Family & Children Services. “We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to beautify and repair our building, so that it will provide a brighter and more welcoming environment for our clients.”
We extend our appreciation to Rebuilding Together, Cooley LLP, Hooper Construction & Remodeling, and all of the volunteers who came together for such a special and productive day.
