Clinical Research
A strategic initiative of F&CS, we are engaged in creating innovative services that build the strength, safety, and self-sufficiency of individuals and families. more

Clinical Training Program & Professional Education
Clinical training program for students and interns seeking licensure in the fields of Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology, as well as continuing education courses for clinicians. Internship opportunities are also available for students of social work fluent in American Sign Language. more

Counseling Services
Counseling for individuals, couples, and families, as well as group therapy for mental illness and emotional distress. Specialized services are available to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community, South East Asian community, and Spanish-speaking community, as well as to individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. more

Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services
Mental health counseling, family programs, and information/referral services for children, youth, and adults who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (HOH), or who have family members who are Deaf/ HOH. more

Dual Diagnosis Services / Court-Based Services
Through a partnership with the County of Santa Clara, case management, mental health, and substance abuse treatment services provided on-site at the court house for individuals with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and addiction who are involved in the justice system. Part of the Mentally Ill Offender Crime Reduction Program (MIOCR). more

Early Childhood Services (ECS) Program
Award-winning program providing mental health, staff training and education, parenting, violence prevention, and family support services to children, families, and staff at childcare facilities. more

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Management and staff training, conflict mediation, and on-site trauma response for workplaces in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Includes mental health counseling services at no cost to employees at participating companies. more

Families and Schools Together (FAST)
A proven national program that is school-based and family-focused. FAST increases the self-esteem and improves the school performance of at-risk elementary and middle school children by supporting the natural strength of the family unit. more

Gay & Lesbian Services
Mental health services for youth and adults who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning, including individual and family counseling, group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication monitoring. more

HIV/AIDS Mental Health Counseling
Comprehensive mental health services for those either infected with or affected by HIV and AIDS. more

Independent Living Program
Life skills, self-sufficiency education, and support services for youth ages 16-21 who are transitioning out of the foster care system. more

Medi-Cal Mental Health
Mental health care for children, youth, and adults with Medi-Cal in Santa Clara County, provided from the San Jose office of Family & Children Services. more

Military & Veterans Services
Mental health services for active servicemembers, veterans, and their families. more

Positive Solutions
Violence prevention and intervention for children, adults, and families. Includes parenting education, court-mandated courses for domestic violence and child abuse offenders, and anger management and accountability groups. more

Psychiatric Services
Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring for children, teens, and adults with serious mental illness, as well as individuals living with HIV/AIDS. more

School-Based Services
On-campus mental health, staff training and education, violence prevention, and family support services. Services are also available for children and teens who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing or severely emotionally disturbed. more

South East Asian Program
Culturally sensitive and language-appropriate mental health and case management services for immigrants from South East Asia, primarily Vietnam and Cambodia. more

Speakers Bureau
Workshops and seminars for corporations and community organizations addressing topics such as violence in the workplace, balancing work and family, and anger management. more

Substance Abuse Services
Both outpatient and individual treatment for adults. Also group therapy. Therapy sessions take place in both co-ed and single-sex environments. more

Support Groups & Group Counseling
In addition to one-to-one and family counseling, individuals can participate in topic specific support groups and counseling groups. more
