Strengthening family relationships and building self-sufficiency
Being a parent is both rewarding and challenging. Through educational opportunities and support services, Family & Children Services assists parents and families to grow stronger and safer, improve their communication, and increase their self-sufficiency.
Services include:

Counseling for children, teens, adults, and families
Services are available at our Palo Alto and San Jose offices. more |

Deaf & Hard of Hearing Program
Counseling for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and their families. Counselors also help families establish positive communication. more |

Families and Schools Together (FAST)
A school-based, family-focused program, FAST increases self-esteem and improves the school performance of elementary and middle school children considered at-risk. Specific goals include promoting school success, enhancing family bonding and functioning, preventing substance abuse by the child and family, and reducing the stress that parents and children experience in their daily lives. This program is currently offered at schools in the Franklin-McKinley School District, and is part of our school-based services. more |

Positive Solutions
To support parents in building their parenting skills, we offer parenting groups, including Parenting without Violence, Child Abuse Treatment, and Anger Management. more |

Services for families and couples in transition
In addition to family counseling for times of change, we have a support group focused on the needs of those going through a divorce or separation. Other groups form based on interest. more |
