Interacting in groups helps us to see ourselves in new ways and to learn from others. Family & Children Services offers specially focused support groups and group counseling.
Services:
• |
Group Therapy
Some clients choose to participate in both group and individual therapy. We also have clients who participate only in groups. A meeting with a therapist can help you determine what is right for you. Groups meet in Palo Alto. |
• |
Anger Management and Accountability
Participants learn to understand their emotions and make positive choices. The group works on positive communication, building healthy relationships, and understanding the decisions they make. Currently this group is offered in English. Groups can form in other languages. This group is part of the Positive Solutions program. |
• |
Divorce and Separation Support Groups
The process of separation and divorce is difficult on many levels. This group, which is led by a marriage and family therapist, chooses its topics based on participant interest; it always provides resources and a place of support.
The next group will begin September 10th and meet for 6 weeks from 7pm-9pm. Fees are set on a sliding scale. Meetings are held in Palo Alto. For information, call Nancy at 650-326-6576 x 5503. |
• |
Groups for Fathers
Groups in English and Spanish support men in their parenting and in building strong relationships with their partners and children. These groups are part of the Positive Solutions program. |
Locations and Fees
Groups form based on participant interest. Please call for current locations. Most groups meet at our offices in Palo Alto or San Jose. Fees are set on a sliding fee scale.
